Know Your Spare Tire and Equipment

Replacing a flat tire is a skill that you need to have so that you don't find yourself stranded on the side of the road. Be prepared beforehand with a well inflated spare tire and the right equipment for changing it out.

Change Spare Tire With Care

Always prevent the vehicle from rolling with a wheel chock. Remember to loosen the bolts before lifting the vehicle completely of the ground. You may need to kick the wheel if you have removed all lugs and the wheel doesn't want to come off. When installing the spare tire it's important to tighten all lug nuts or bolts evenly and securely to ensure that it isn't going to come off while driving.
