2018 Kia Stinger designed for speed

The Gran Turismo was considered a little more than a dream for Kia Motors a few years ago but, with the 2018 Kia Stinger, that dream has now become a reality. Kia plans to begin selling this high performance car in December and already its speed is being talked about.

Kia equipped the Stinger with a 2.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged four-cylinder engine or an available 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 that can reach 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds. In building the Stinger, Kia added some features they are using for the first time. The Stinger has an eight-speed transmission that uses a Centrifugal Pendulum Absorber torque converter to reduce vibrations in shifting. It also has Kia's first sedan with available rear- or all-wheel drive.

Like any good sports car, the Stinger sits on tires specially designed and engineered for its performance. The 3.3-liter V6 has 225/40R-19 in front and 225/35R-19 at the rear. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder comes with 225/45R-18 performance all-season tires.
